We take your privacy seriously and have written this policy in plain language so you always know exactly how your information is handled.
storysprout is developed and operated by storynest labs, an independent developer based in California. We can be reached at storynest.hello@gmail.com.
We collect only what is necessary to make the app work:
We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, device identifiers, or browsing history. There are no user accounts and no sign-in required.
Your voice recording is sent to ElevenLabs solely to create a voice model. storysprout does not store your voice on its own servers. Once ElevenLabs has created the voice model, the original audio sample is deleted by ElevenLabs in accordance with their data retention policies.
ElevenLabs is a third-party service with its own privacy practices. We strongly encourage you to review their policy at elevenlabs.io/privacy before recording your voice.
storysprout is designed to be operated by parents and caregivers, not by children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at storynest.hello@gmail.com.
All generated narrations and preferences are stored locally on your device. storysprout does not operate cloud servers or databases. If you delete the app, all locally stored data is removed.
We do not share your data with any other third parties. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
You may request deletion of your ElevenLabs voice model, delete all locally stored data by uninstalling the app, or contact us with any privacy-related questions. Email us at storynest.hello@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
We may update this privacy policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the storysprout mobile application. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and storynest labs ("Developer," "we," "us"). They apply to all users of storysprout.
You must be at least 13 years old to use storysprout. To purchase a premium subscription, you must be at least 18 years old (or have parental consent). The app is intended for use by parents and caregivers on behalf of their children.
You may only record your own voice. Recording the voice of another person without their explicit consent is a violation of these Terms and may be unlawful in your jurisdiction.
By recording your voice in storysprout, you confirm the voice is your own (or you have explicit consent), consent to transmission to ElevenLabs for voice model creation, and agree the voice clone will only be used for personal, non-commercial story narration.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use storysprout on your personal iOS device for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, sell, or sublicense the app.
storysprout provides access to public domain children's stories. We do not claim ownership over these source texts. Generated narrations are stored locally on your device and you retain ownership of recordings you create.
You agree not to use storysprout to generate harmful or inappropriate content, impersonate any person, clone another person's voice without consent, or violate any applicable law.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. VOICE CLONING QUALITY DEPENDS ON ELEVENLABS' AI TECHNOLOGY, WHICH WE DO NOT CONTROL.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORYNEST LABS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of California.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
